Being Robbed
I
want to tell stories and hope this can be a warning for us who like to travel
alone, especially girls in the afternoon or evening in order to be more
careful. I got information about a good Import bookstore named Effhar. In the
afternoon around 4 o'clock, I went there with Gmaps. Apparently, it is far
enough. I thought it was on the side of highway considering the photos I got,
showed a large typical bookstore.
Unfortunately,
the bookstore was closed. It is in the Poncol area but it is far away till near
the railroad track. Because I didn't know the way, I opened maps while still on
my motorbike. Suddenly, my phone was taken roughly by a man on a motorcycle. He
said, "This is my cellphone!" His face is fierce, frightening.
Because
of panic, I thoughtlessly and tried to catch him. I screamed for my cellphone
to be returned. While asking for passersby. Until I was as routine as the proof
of my medical advice. The robber chased me from a small alley, a street a till
highway. I chased the robber for about twenty minutes. I didn't know how many
times I was in narrow escape. I almost fell down, crashed in car, bumped into
another motorbike, etc. I also reached his t-shirt with my hand for a while but
he was released again.
I
shouted loudly as possible. But there were no help. Then I had an idea. I
shouted to the robber that my phone was a bit damaged and the screen was
broken. It would be better if I gave him money but I could get my phone back.
He accepted it but asked for hundreds of thousands. I said that I only had
fifty thousand. Just after that he stopped (still on the motorbike) to exchange
phones with money.
After
that, he immediately went away. And I just kept going straight because it is
one way street. Suddenly, there were two men riding the motorbike stopped in
front of the robber's. I was affected too. And other motorbikes followed. They
immediately held the robber and asked me to explain what happened. The men who
stopped the robber, understood the problem when I shouted asking for help on
the road. He was chasing me too. From a distance, they looked when I was giving
money to the robber. There was a phone with my money behind. Then the men there
began to slap and got angry. Sure I was very afraid staying in the middle of
them. Then I was told to stay away, and just went home.
The
following problem, my phone was low and I really confused about the way coming home.
It had been a very far away. That was a factory areas. I kept going straight
until I found a road that had shops on the side of the road. There were two
other men who worn driver online jackets. My feeling told me that they were not
a criminal. I told the story and asked for help. Then I was taken to the big road
in Semarang.
I
was really grateful that I was fine and mine backed to me. But my suggestion,
it would be better not to go out late in the evening or night especially alone
in the area that you were still in doubting. You must be accompanied by
friends, at least. Be careful about keeping things too. And if it's unfortunate
that the incident is grabbed, riding a motorbike, don't chase it! Danger on the
road because of definitely speed and risk of accident. We don't know where the
criminals will take us. How if it taken to her friends? How if he has a sharp
weapon? Not to mention the fear and trauma.
This
was such a crazy thing. Hopefully it can be a lesson for us.
